Dr. Hanselman is trained and experienced in preventive, restorative and cosmetic dentistry for patients of all ages. Our office manager, Cindy, is experienced in all areas of dental insurance and can help you navigate your insurance plan.

For your convenience, we accept cash, check, and most major credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard. Third-party financing is available through CareCredit for qualified applicants. We are a Delta Premier Provider.

Emergency Care

For emergency care during normal office hours, please call our office at 734-769-1130. We will do our best to respond to your situation promptly. Please call us as early in the day as possible so as to arrange for care the same day. Dr. Hanselman is also available during other hours – simply call the same number for information about how to proceed.

Location

We are located at the corner of Packard and Woodlawn Avenue, near Burns Park and convenient to the University of Michigan.

We have off-street, free parking.

Our building is a three-story brick building that is one block north of Granger. Our office is on the second floor, easily reached by elevator or stair.

Your Dental Visit

dr patient wide On your initial visit, we will review a full health history and ask you to identify any issues or concerns about your dental health. You may ask us to mail it to you, or you can click here to download it at your convenience.

You can expect this to take about an hour. This assures you that you have had all the necessary x-rays and assessments to develop a personalized plan to achieve your best dental health. Visits are generally shorter for children, to accommodate their attention span and fewer teeth, and to make them feel more comfortable.

On subsequent visits, we will ask if your health status has changed, or if new dental issues have arisen. Regular checkups (usually about every six months) will help your teeth stay cleaner, look brighter, last longer and can prevent problems from developing. Checkups almost always include a complete cleaning by one of our experienced hygienists.

Dr. Hanselman will also thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, tongue and mouth, looking for signs of disease or other problems, with the goal of maintaining your good oral health and to prevent problems from becoming serious, by identifying and treating them as soon as possible. Depending on your age, risks of disease and symptoms, x-rays may be recommended. X-rays can diagnose problems otherwise unnoticed.
